Collaborating to find a cure for BPD
Multidisciplinary Teams Dedicated to Optimizing Outcomes of Infants & Children With Severe Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia
Welcome to The BPD Collaborative
On the website, you will find information about BPD, the centers
involved, current projects, and contact information.
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is the chronic lung disease that follows NICU care for respiratory distress in premature infants. Infants with severe BPD present persistent challenges and controversies in care, raising many questions and issues regarding optimal strategies for enhancing their long-term outcomes.
We are dedicated to:
Developing, implementing and maintaining a Registry for all our BPD patients
Developing and disseminating evidence to advance the care of BPD
Promoting diversity among our members
Abolishing disparities in health outcome in children with established BPD
Fostering and promoting the careers of young clinicians
Involving families in our multidisciplinary approach to BPD
The BPD Collaborative
The BPD Collaborative consists of 45 centers across the USA and five international locations, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Japan. These centers have dedicated multidisciplinary teams dedicated to the ongoing care of patients with BPD, and particularly the most severe forms of BPD. Our members are dedicated to improving the outcomes of infants and children with BPD by creating and sustaining a culture of collaboration in clinical care, research, quality improvement, education, and advocacy.
