Welcome our two new Executive BoardMembers!
Welcome to our two new Executive Board Members Laurie Eldredge and Paul Moore!
We are excited to announce the two new additions to The BPD Collaborative Executive Board! Laurie Eldredge and Paul Moore are the first rotating members of the Executive Board and will serve a 3-year term. We look forward to them making a difference in The BPD Collaborative! Our next election for the next two rotating members of the Executive Board will take place in December 2022.
Laurie Eldredge is an assistant professor and physician-scientist at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Laurie’s personal mission aligns closely with that of the BPD Collaborative – to improve care for patients with severe BPD though research and collaboration across medical disciplines and institutions. Laurie is excited to join the talented BPD Collaborative Executive Board with a unique perspective as a junior faculty clinical leader, translational researcher, and parent of a child with a chronic disease. her goals include design and participation in multi-center research to move toward individualized therapies for patients with severe BPD.
Paul Moore is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Harvard Medical School. During his pediatric pulmonology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, he first became interested in genetic and molecular mechanisms that contribute to asthma. He joined the faculty at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2001 and serves as Director of the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology, and Pulmonary Medicine and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Pediatrics. His current research interests are focused on understanding the impact of prematurity and BPD on respiratory outcomes, including asthma.
Paul is grateful to be involved in the BPD Collaborative and believes that we have great potential moving forward. As one of the original investigators in the Premature and Respiratory Outcomes Program (PROP), Paul gained appreciation for the synergistic impact that Neonatology and Pulmonology can make. In addition, collaborative approaches have transformed BPD clinical care at his own institution. As the BPD Collaborative has grown in recent years, it is critical for us to establish benchmarks so that we remain productive while working together toward common goals.
